The Inverness 10k Kayak Loop! The INV10 I was looking at the map of Inverness one day around the time of the bypass coming in and noticed that it would be possible, thanks to the work of Thomas Telford and the Caledonian Canal, to travel down the River Ness and connect with the Great Glen Canoe Trail via the Beauly Firth and get back to Lochardil where I live completely by kayak, breaking the journey in two in Inverness City Centre where I work. Who would have thought that Telford & Co had already designed a bypass around the city - alas a carbon neutral one - and an alternative to the road!
